Landscape Architecture is an integral part of the Urban Design process. TEC recognises this inherent connection and attaches great importance to the landscape component of all projects. Selected landscape projects include:
Gungahlin Linear Park Concept Plan
Client: Land Development Agency
Location: Gungahlin ACT
The Gungahlin Linear Park is the pre-eminent people place in the commercial core of the Gungahlin Town Centre. The park was conceived as a series of outdoor ‘rooms’ designed for a broad range of activities by community groups and individuals. The interconnecting rooms allowed for community markets, community & corporate celebrations, demonstrations, performances, sitting, relaxing, & eating. Special emphasis was placed on connectivity & accessibility, WSUD initiatives, mitigation of anti-social behaviour, and low maintenance outcomes.

Hibberson Street
Client: Land Development Agency
Location: Gungahlin ACT
TEC was responsible for the landscape treatment of the main street in the Gungahlin Town Centre, Hibberson Street. The work included the integrated design of all pavements, parking laybys, street trees & protective grates, pedestrian lighting and all street furniture in the corridor. It introduced the concept of using stormwater collected on roadways to water street trees via special sumps connected into tree watering pits – a major contribution to water sensitive urban design (WSUD) in the Town Centre.

Wells Station – ‘Mullion Park’, ‘Gungaderra Bridge’, ‘Nullarbor Park’
Client: Land Development Agency
Location: Gungahlin ACT
TEC created ‘Mullion Park’ in this award winning development to respond to the need to preserve and protect 11 high quality mature eucalypts and create a genus locii for the Wells Station residential estate. TEC designed the signature bridge over Gungaderra Creek on Mapleton Avenue to define one of the major entries into Wells Station and act as a strong placemaking element. It also designed the entry wall as a backdrop to ‘Nullarbor Park’ which serves a similar address and placemaking function on Nullarbor Avenue.

Palmerston Rise
Client: Gungahlin Development Agency
Location: Gungahlin ACT
The landscape treatment of the public domain forms an integral part of any residential estate. TEC designed, documented and supervised all landscape works in Palmerston Rise. These included three parks, laneways, street verges and a number of connective open space corridors. The landscaping comprised all hard and soft works including landscaping in the Gungahlin Drive road reservation.
